La Liga giants Barcelona have been linked with a move for Manchester United flop Memphis Depay by Spanish publication Don Balon.
The Dutch international arrived at Old Trafford in a £25 million from PSV Eindhoven last summer following an impressive 22-goal season in the Eredivisie. However, the 22-year-old failed to replicate his form for United and could manage only two goals in 29 appearances for the Red Devils.
The report claims that Barcelona’s preferred target is Atletico Madrid’s Luciano Vietto, but they will shift attention to Depay if they fail to sign the Argentinean. Serie A champions Juventus are also said to be interested in the Dutch winger and have already made a £16.7m bid for him.
Meanwhile, United’s top transfer target Paul Pogba has about his future. The France international admitted that he is still nowhere close to knowing where his future lies.
The 23-year-old, who is currently holidaying in Los Angeles, spoke about interests from Manchester United and Real Madrid in his services. He also hinted that he could end staying at Juventus for one more season.
“Manchester United were my first family,” said Pogba, as reported by The Guardian. “If [Jose] Mourinho called? I don’t know what will happen. For the moment, I am here [at Juventus] and I am happy here, but I don’t know where I want to go.
“It [Juventus] is my team. My family. It’s where I’m playing and where I’m at ease. They’re [Real Madrid] a big club. They won the Champions League this year.”
