Leicester City suffer double blow

Leicester City have been dealt a major double blow in the transfer window. According to the latest reports, the Foxes could begin the defence of their titles without midfielder N’Golo Kante and winger Riyad Mahrez.

Both players played major roles in the Foxes’ unprecedented title success last season, but on Saturday both Leicester and Chelsea broke the news that Kante will be making the transfer from the King Power Stadium to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have  agreed a £30 million fee for the 25-year-old and he is expected to undergo a medical over the weekend before putting pen to paper on a five-year contract.

To make the matters worse for the Champions, winger Riyad Mahrez has reportedly refused to extend his contract with the club and The Guardian are claiming that the Algerian international wants to leave the club this summer.

The PFA Player of the Year has three years left on his current deal, which he signed last August. The 25-year-old, who arrived at King Power Stadium in a £375,000 deal from French side Le Harve in 2014, scored 17 league goals for the Foxes last season.

Barcelona, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain figure in the long list of clubs that have been linked with a move for Mahrez.
