Arsenal agree personal terms with striker, Germany international wants to join

Arsenal have agreed on personal terms with Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to French outlet Le 10 Sport (via Daily Star).

The Gunners have already seen one bid of £29 million rejected for the French striker, but various sources have backed the North London club to go back for the 25-year-old with an improved bid.

The Ligue 1 club have on multiple occasions insisted that their player is not for sale this summer, but that latest report by Le 10 Sport thus makes a bold claim that the player has reached a financial agreement with Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Wolfsburg winger Julian Draxler has publicly stated his desire to leave his club this summer. The 22-year-old told German publication Bild that he has gentleman’s agreement with Wolfsburg in place that if a top club comes looking for him, he will be allowed to leave.

Bild further mentions that Juventus and Arsenal are two clubs interested in him, but Draxler prefers a move to the North London club. Arsenal have previously attempted to sign the German international, when he was at his former club – Schalke 04.

Draxler told Bild(via Sport Witness): “Before one goes public, they should also have a word with myself. For me it is so that I have expressed myself clearly after the Euros, with Dieter Hecking, that I want to leave Wolfsburg. The coach knows for more than three weeks.

“Two days after the semi-final at the European Championships I told him how I see the whole situation and what I want – which is to leave the club. I was verbally assured with my transfer in August 2015 that I can leave the club when given opportunities. Both from Hecking, as well as Allofs.

“It was always clear between all parties that I would like to go to a top international club if the opportunity arises. It was discussed that we speak rationally with one another, if other clubs show interest.”
