Sunderland and Lazio compete for Manchester United player

Sunderland are facing competition from Serie A side Lazio in pursuit of Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj, according to a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via talkSPORT).

The report claims that Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi has identified Januzaj as a potential replacement of outgoing winger Antonio Candreva.

Black Cats manager David Moyes, who handed Januzaj his first-team debut, has already admitted his interest in signing the 21-year-old this summer.

The Belgian, who showed enormous potential under Moyes at Old Trafford, has failed to impress since Moyes’ departure from the club and his loan move to Borussia Dortmund turned out to be a disaster last season.

The Sun have already reported that United have slapped a price tag of £10 million on their player and want to sell him on a permanent deal this summer. However, the Blacks Cats wants to bring the youngster to the Stadium of Light on a loan deal.

The Belgium international scored one goal in five league appearances for the Red Devils in the second half of last season.
