Arsenal star Hector Bellerin could reject a new deal from the Gunner to force a summer move to Manchester City, the Times claims.
Yesterday, reports emerged that Arsenal are set to offer a new five-year deal to right-back Hector Bellerin. The Spaniard has emerged as one of best full-backs in football in the last couple of years.
His current deal expires in 2019 and a new deal would have extended his contract until 2021. The Times have also claimed that the new deal from the Gunners would have doubled Bellerin’s weekly wages to £100,000.
The report claims that the sources close to the player have insisted that the player wants to join Guardiola at City. Bellerin was a part of the Catalan academy under Guardiola and would love to play under him again.
He joined the North London club from Barcelona in 2011 as a sixteen-year-old. He broke through Arsene Wenger’s starting eleven during the 2014-15 season and he was a part of Premier League Team of the Year for last season.
In summer, he was a subject of interests from City and Barcelona. It was reported that the Gunners rejected a deal from City for their youngster.
