Goalkeepers were in top form during Tuesday night’s Champions League fixtures.
We witnessed some top-notch performances from the likes of Gianluigi Buffon, Hugo Lloris and Kasper Schmeichel for their respective teams on the night.
Buffon produced an MOTM performance as ten-man Juventus managed to beat Lyon 1-0 away from home. The Italian produced a couple of world class saves, which included a save on Alexandre Lacazette’s penalty.

Tottenham skipper Hugo Lloris was another goalkeeper who was in top form on the night. The French keeper made an unbelievable save on Bayer Leverkusen’s Chicharito’s shot from point-blank range. At first, it appeared that the ball had crossed the line, but the goal-line technology showed that Lloris successfully managed to keep the ball out of the goal. The game ended in a goalless draw in Germany.

Leicester City keeper Kasper Schmeichel also deserves mention for his one-handed save in the 1-0 win over FC Copenhagen.
The Danish goalkeeper made the save late in the game to ensure another three points for Claudio Raniero’s side in Champions League.
