Manchester United looking for a wide player on transfer deadline day

Manchester United have been linked with a couple of wide players in the last hours of the transfer window.

In the first report, Daily Star claims that United manager Jose Mourinho has registered a late interest in Paris Saint-Germain winger Julian Draxler.

The report claims that Mourinho is desperate to add a winger to his squad, and the German could be a last-minute arrival at Old Trafford.

Draxler has become a surplus to requirements at PSG following the arrival of Neymar from Barcelona. He has also been linked with the likes of Bayern Munich and Arsenal in the recent past.

In another United-related news, the Red Devils could make a final-day attempt to sign Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City.

The latest report comes from French television channel SFR Sport, which claims that after failing in their pursuits for Ivan Perisic and Gareth Bale, United could make a last-ditch attempt to sign the Algerian this transfer window.

The 26-year-old is keen to leave the Foxes this summer, but none of the interested clubs have managed to match his valuation set by his club.

According to multiple reports, Mahrez is valued at £50m by the 2015-16 league champions. The likes of Arsenal and AS Roma have been linked with interest in Mahrez this summer. Roma even made a couple of failed bids for the player, but they were not prepared to match Foxes’ valuation of their player.

Mahrez has reportedly submitted a transfer request with the Foxes, and United could just provide him with an exit this summer.

United are also said to be interested in a move for free agent Bacary Sagna. Daily Star claims that United are competing with league champions Chelsea for the services of the former France international.

The 34-year-old has become a free agent after he was released by Manchester City this summer. Sagna made 25 appearances in total for Pep Guardiola’s side last season.
