Chelsea could sell Michy Batshuayi to Borussia Dortmund in the summer, according to the latest report from the Evening Standard.
However, the Blues are likely to demand more than £50m for the Belgian striker. Batshuayi is currently on loan at Dortmund, and the German club have admitted that they wish to convert the deal into a permanent one.
The 24-year-old joined Chelsea in a £33.1m move from Marseille in the summer of 2016. However, his one-and-a-half seasons in West London were quite uneventful, and he never managed to get a foothold in Antonio Conte’s starting eleven.
He was allowed to join Dortmund on a loan move in January, thus helping Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang join Arsenal and Olivier Giroud join Chelsea.
He made an immediate impact with his new side, and before his season was cut short due to an ankle ligament injury last Sunday, he had scored nine strikes in 14 games.
It’s not a surprise that Dortmund wants to sign the Belgian on a permanent move. He has the potential to replace Aubameyang in the squad, and he has already adjusted to the new surroundings.
However, it remains to be seen whether he has any future with Chelsea, which is likely to be decided after the Blues have made up their minds about their manager for next season.
Nevertheless, according to another report, the Blues have already started making plans for the summer. The Mirror claims that Chelsea are interested in signing Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri and intend to launch an early bid for him.
The 26-year-old is a top-target for the Blues this summer, and they are prepared to pay £35m for his service. The 26-year-old is likely to wait until Chelsea announce their manager for the next season, before making taking a decision regarding his future.
Seri has also been linked with the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City in the recent months.
