Argentina interim manager Lionel Scaloni has stated he doesn’t know if Lionel Messi will play for the national team again.
Messi had a difficult summer with Argentina at the World Cup where they crashed out at the hands of eventual winners France at the Round of 16, and indicated he would not be available for the September friendlies against Guatemala and Colombia or indeed for the rest of the year, according to a report in Clarin newspaper.

“I spoke to him and after that talk, he has not been called up for these games,” Scaloni said at a press conference on Tuesday in Buenos Aires.
“Honestly, we have not spoken about what will happen in the future.
“We all know what he represents for us and we shall see what happens. I have a good relationship with him, it was a good chat that we had and we were very clear. He will not be in this call-up and in the future, we shall see.”
