Arsenal lost to Watford in their FA Cup quarter-final at Emirates Stadium on Sunday. The result has put the spotlight on Arsene Wenger’s position at the club.
The Frenchman has been receiving criticism for his team’s performance of late and following the 2-1 defeat, a large number of Arsenal fans have started to feel that something needs to be changed at the club.
There were a lot of angry Arsenal fans on Twitter last night:
Forget AKBs, it’s more Wenger out respectfully and Wenger out abusively at the moment! #AFC

Damnnnnn Wenger. Back at it again with a season of failure…

No point discussing transfers, Wenger has spent £149,821,000 in the past 3 seasons with no real improvement. The major issue is the coaching

Wenger was & still is a top manager but sometimes change is healthy & necessary. Both he & the club are stagnating. Change seems inevitable.

Wenger & Van Gaal are analogue managers in a digital age.
They should both resign before their legacies get ruined.— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) March 13, 2016
So Wenger thinks that team gave everything today? Time to go mate.. #InArseneWeRust

With exit from the Champions League seeming inevitable & only a slim chance of the title, Arsène Wenger can only have himself to blame.

Wenger must bang on about his side’s “tremendous spirit” and “mentality” more than any other manager… as if trying to convince himself.
— Miguel Delaney (@MiguelDelaney) March 13, 2016
Wenger talking about this team’s “great spirit”, “strong attitude.”
Days like this — months like this — don’t exactly endorse that claim.— Oliver Kay (@OliverKayTimes) March 13, 2016
If Arsene Wenger had any love for this club he would do the honourable thing & resign. This season is the cherry on top of 10 yrs of failure

Deep down I’ve always been a Wenger supporter but it’s been a battle these last few years. He refuses to maximise our transfer opportunities

I think Wenger will walk at the end of this season. I have to believe that for my own sanity.
— Kick Arse (@kickarseHD) March 13, 2016
I’ll always love Wenger, and I’ve believed in him for a lot longer than many felt was fair, but I can’t see him turning us around anymore.

Will never love anyone in sport anywhere near as much as I love Arsene Wenger, but he’s finished. Doesn’t deserve to go out like this.
