Arsenal ‘keeper Jens Lehmann has hinted that he could stay at the Emirates for next season, despite only being brought-in on a short-term deal.
After injuries to Wojciech Szczesny and Lukas Fabianski in March, Lehmann, 41, was signed to provide goalkeeping cover, but despite only making one league appearance, the former Germany international is confident he could stay on.
Talking to the Premier League website, Lehmann said: “I took three weeks to get really fit – and then I had to play against Blackpool.I thought ‘You can do it still. It is not forgotten.’
“From my performance I would be able to continue playing. My team-mates are always asking me if I’ll still be here next season.”
In his last spell at the club, Lehmann won the Premier League title in 2003-4, along with the FA Cup the following year.
