Sevilla plan move for Arsenal flop Chamakh

Sevilla are preparing a January swoop for Arsenal misfit Marouane Chamakh according to the Daily Mail.

Chamakh, 27, joined Arsenal in the summer of 2010 after completing his free transfer move from French club Bordeaux. However, he has struggled to hold down a permanent first team place, having made just 19 appearances in the league, scoring eight goals.

Sevilla sporting director, Monchi, is keen on the Moroccan striker, but any move is likely to depend on what cover the Gunners have for Robin van Persie, with only Park Chu-Young and Chamakh the only recognised back up strikers in the squad.

Premier League rivals Everton are also rumoured to be interested, but are more likely to request a loan deal due to their tight financial situation.
