Arsenal will battle with a host of clubs from the Premier League and beyond for the free transfer signing of Blackburn Rovers winger Junior Hoilett, the
The Gunners face competition from German pair Bayern Munich and Borussia Monchengladbach as well as Premier League rivals Everton, Stoke City, Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland, according to the Mail.
Hoilett has thus far made 36 appearances for Blackburn this season, scoring seven goals, but was unable to prevent Rovers slipping out of the top flight after 11 seasons. A 1-0 home defeat to Wigan Athletic on Monday evening condemned Steve Kean’s side to the drop, 17 years after Blackburn won the Premier League title.
Canada-born Hoilett joined the Blackburn academy at the age of 13 but spent time on loan in Germany after turning professional in an effort to gain a work permit, which eventually arrived in the summer of 2009. Since then Hoilett has become an important part of the Blackburn side but looks set to leave this summer when his contract expires.
