Arsenal enter race for Lloris

Arsenal are set to launch a bid for French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris amid reports that the player’s club, Lyon, are prepared to listen to offers.

According to the Evening Standard, the club’s chairman, Jean-Michel Aulas, has admitted that he would cash in on the France no.1 making way for Arsene Wenger to make a £12 million bid to bring Lloris to the Premier League.

The 25-year-old has played 171 times for Lyon since signing for them in 2008 from Nice where he made 77 appearances. If he were to make the switch to Arsenal it could spell the end of Lukasz Fabianski’s Arsenal career, the 27-year-old had been expected to leave North London this summer after finding his number of first team opportunities limited.

Fellow Premier League club Liverpool as well as Serie A runners-up AC Milan are thought to be keen on a move for the three time Ligue 1 goalkeeper of the year as well.
