Arsene Wenger has turned to Swansea City forward Michu in his attempt to bring a new striker to Arsenal, the
Michu made a telling impact in his first season in the Premier League, netting 22 goals for the Welsh side after a cut-price move to the Liberty Stadium from Spanish side Rayo Vallecano. He also helped Michael Laudrup’s team to victory in the League Cup, beating League Two side Bradford City – who had previously knocked out Arsenal.

Wenger has recently confirmed he would be interested in signing Rooney from Manchester United and are willing to offer the England international a five-year contract, while the former Everton forward’s wages would come out of the £350,000 Arsenal plan to free up by engaging in a clear out of their squad players, with Denilson confirmed as leaving at the end of June.
