Manchester City will be looking to increase the pressure over Premier League leaders Chelsea by beating bottom club Fulham.
For Manuel Pellegrini’s side, the game at Hull City was a magnificent show of character, as they recovered from the major setback of losing captain Vincent Kompany to a red card in the opening 10 minutes to take the three points. David Silva was outstanding, while their defensive organisation was also impressive, as they restricted the hosts to very few meaningful opportunities despite their man advantage.
Fulham will also be greatly encouraged after getting their first win under Felix Magath. Although they stay four points from safety, it has brought them back in touch with some of the teams above them, and has left them with a fighting chance of pulling off a great escape. That said, a victory for the Cottagers at the Etihad Stadium would count as a massive shock, but they will have belief.
Kompany misses this game through suspension, and Man City are also without Sergio Aguero and Matija Nastasic. Stevan Jovetic and Micah Richards are also injury doubts.
The visitors have several injury problems. Ashkan Dejagah is out with a muscle injury, while Damien Duff, Konstantinos Mitroglou, Scott Parker and Giorgios Karagounis are also expected to be sidelined.
