Hull City boss Steve Bruce is readying a club record bid to prize midfielder Jake Livermore away from Tottenham after an impressive season on loan at the KC Stadium, according to reports.

With Hull said to have sounded out a club record £6.5m fee Bruce has given the club the go ahead to start discussions over personal terms for the player – despite interest from Crystal Palace and QPR for his services.
It is now down to Livermore whether he chooses to leave London after starting his career at Spurs and progressing through their academy as a 16-year-old.
Despite spending eight years with his boyhood club Livermore has only made 36 first team appearances at White Hart Lane and the 24-year-old may now feel the time is right to move on following a taste of regular fist team football.
