Brazilian full back Wallace Oliveira dos Santos is to spend the 2014/15 in the Netherlands on loan with Vitesse, according to The
The 20-year-old will spend a season in Arnhem in a bid to enjoy more senior experience. The Dutch club’s technical director Mohammed Allach expressed his delight at the capture, saying: “Wallace is a big talent, he fits in our offensive way of playing and provides more options in our midfield and defence.”
This will not be the first loan spell for Wallace. He spent the 2013/14 with Internazionale in Italy, but managed just three brief substitute appearances in Serie A, alongside one start in the Coppa Italia against Sicilian minnows Trapani.
Wallace, who has been capped by Brazil at under-20s level, originally agreed a deal with Chelsea late in 2012, but was immediately loaned back to his former club, Rio giants Fluminense. He finally arrived in west London in the summer of 2013, but was soon sent to Milan. He has yet to make a competitive appearance for the Blues.
Wallace is the seventh Chelsea player to be loaned to Vitesse in the last year, the Dutch club benefitting from their owner Alexander Chigrinsky’s friendship with Chelsea supremo Roman Abramovich.
