With only one point each to their name, Crystal Palace and Burnley will be looking to steer themselves clear from the bottom of the Premier League when they meet at Selhurst Park.
Neil Warnock’s return to the Eagles dugout was far from dull, as his side scored within a minute, but eventually needed a last-gasp leveller from the returning Wilfried Zaha to prevent a third defeat from three outings. This is the kind of game that they will be expecting to win, and while Warnock is set to earn a favourable reception, the pressure will be on him and his players to achieve a positive result.
Burnley will be relatively happy with their performance levels so far since their return to the top-flight, but will be concerned by their lack of goals, with only Scott Arfield’s superb strike against Chelsea finding the net in 270 minutes of football. They contained Manchester United well in their last game, and, like Crystal Palace, they will be targeting this match as one which they cannot afford to lose.
James McArthur and Ezekiel Fryers are both in line to make their Crystal Palace debuts, but they are without Joe Ledley, Glenn Murray, Marouane Chamakh and Stuart O’Keefe.
Sam Vokes remains the only absentee for the away side, who could hand appearances to new signings George Boyd and Michael Keane. Danny Ings has recovered from illness to take his place in the team.
