Hull City will be searching for their first Premier League win since the beginning of October when Swansea City make the trip to Humberside on Saturday.
The visit to Chelsea last time out ended in the defeat for Hull that was predicted almost universally at the start of the match, but it all could have ended differently had the Blues’ Gary Cahill been sent off, particularly as the incident came at a time when Steve Bruce’s men were threatening to draw level at 1-1.
As it is, they are now languishing in the bottom three with only 13 points with a dismal Premier League record throughout the calendar year, so although there is great potential in this squad, they must start delivering results soon.
A run of one win in five games has seen Swansea slip to ninth place, and to make matters worse, they could not hold on to a point against Tottenham, as they became the latest side to fall victim to another late show on the road by the North London club.
Top scorer Wilfried Bony was again on target in that match, and while he is a quality striker, other players will be expected to chip in on the goalscoring front over the coming weeks, particularly with the Ivorian soon to be heading to the Africa Cup of Nations.
The home side are without midfielder Tom Huddlestone, who begins a costly four-match ban, while Michael Dawson, Mohamed Diame and Robert Snodgrass are all out injured.
By contrast, Swansea have a fully-fit squad to choose from and could hand recalls to Nathan Dyer and Jonjo Shelvey.
