Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed his delight with the form of Alexis Sanchez, marking out his rapid adaptation to the Premier League as one of the quickest he has ever seen, Sky
Sanchez earned huge praise this week from club legend Thierry Henry who claimed Sanchez was the club’s best signing over the last six years and it is hard to disagree – 18 goals in all competitions and starting all but two of Arsenal’s league games.
While the Chilean cost £35m it seems like it has been money well spent with the likes of Danny Welbeck, Olivier Giroud, Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey and Theo Walcott in and out of the side through injury and suspension.
And Wenger has highlighted his attitude off the pitch and moving to England as a key factor in hitting the ground running so quickly.
He said: “He is one of the faster adaptors to the Premier League I’ve seen.
“I believe it’s because he feels well accepted by the other players. He feels he is an important player in the squad.
“Sanchez is a player who can play through the middle but in a different way to (Olivier) Giroud because of his mobility.
“He has two major assets – the quality of his game and the quality of his receptions. He gets into areas where you can find him.”
However when it comes to quality of money Wenger is in two minds whether Sanchez has been his best signing in recent times.
The Frenchman highlighted the impact and overall form of fellow countryman Laurent Koscielny since arriving at the club to rival Sanchez in that respect.
The Gunners boss acknowledged it was hard to compare two such different players and while he believed the Chilean winger was no doubt one of his better signings, chose to pay tribute to his central defender too.
