Hull City striker Nikica Jelavic could be out of action for the rest of the season after having undergone surgery on a long-term knee problem, reports Sky
The former Everton and Rangers striker has impressed at the KC Stadium, and has found his scoring boots again. His time with Everton came to an end following a lengthy goal drought with the Toffees. But now he’s been afford regular game time he’s back to form with Hull.
Manager Steve Bruce has been full of praise for the striker, and feels he’s finally at home with the Tigers, but is frustrated to have lost him at a key point of the season. Hull City are in a relegation dogfight, and have been suffering injury problems to their attacking options all through the campaign.
Jelavic had only return from a knee injury in mid-January, but the surgery should fix his past problems. Hull City have nine Premier League games to go to secure their top-flight status, and they’re forced to do it without the 29-year-old. He’s likely to miss the entirety of the current season, but could return to training before the campaign comes to a close.
