QPR manager Chris Ramsey wants to rebuild the club in the Championship

Following Queens Park Rangers’ relegation from the Premier League, manager Chris Ramsey admits he wants to be the man to lead them in the Championship to build the club for a promotion charge back to the top-flight, reports Sky Sports.

The Londoners lost 6-0 away to Manchester City at the Etihad stadium this weekend which sealed their fate in the Premier League. They went behind minutes into the game, so there was no real fight for survival from the off. Queens Park Rangers knew they stood a difficult task to stay up, with their form plummeting in 2015, but Ramsey still believes he has a chance to keep his job for the new season.

The former Tottenham coach believes he is the right man to rebuild the club for a promotion push next season, but there will be a large overhaul of players. The Hoops were below-par for the majority of the season, and have a lot of ageing stars likely to be shown the door for a newer younger team that can grow in the coming years.

And through his long period with Tottenham as development coach, Ramsey feels he’s the right man to lead to the side for 2015/16, saying: “Yes. I really do (want to stay). It’s a club that I’ve taken to my heart and I really want to be here. The club’s in a rebuilding phase now and it would have been anyway regardless of what had happened to us today.”
