Louis van Gaal has advised Angel Di Maria to remain at Manchester United next season, but has admitted that he may leave the club, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly interested in his services.
Di Maria arrived at Old Trafford accompanied by great expectations having won the Champions League with Real Madrid last season.
However, he has already been linked with a departure from the club.
According to the Daily
Laurent Blanc’s side had attempted to move for Di Maria a year ago, but were unable to sign the player having already been hit by financial fair-play sanctions, according to ESPN.
However, Louis van Gaal has recommended that the player remains at the club and tries to win round the Old Trafford faithful.
“I think that Di Maria should stay,” the Dutch coach began, as reported by Le 10 Sport, “and he work hard.
“I am delighted with his attitude, that is not the problem,” he continued, “it’s up to the player to choose, we are waiting for him to make a decision.”
The 27-year-old has featured 26 times for the Red Devils in the Premier League so far this season, contributing 10 assists and scoring three goals.
