Turkish international winger Arda Turan is on the radars of a number of Premier League sides this summer, and is now reportedly willing to leave Atletico Madrid.
And, according to Spanish publication Marca, the reason why Turan has suddenly decided he wants to move on, is because he is tired of having to do so much running, and has informed his agent to relay the news to head coach Diego Simeone.
Simeone is famous for implementing a high octane style of play and strong work ethic amongst his players to make up for any shortcomings they might have in comparison to title rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid.
But whatever the shortcomings, it hasn’t stopped Atletico from becoming one of the most exciting club sides in Europe right now, which is a huge transformation from being the perennial losers that they were once known to be.
However, despite their upturn in fortunes, Arda Turan has had enough, and would like to move on to somewhere he would be freed of his defensive duties.
Currently under contract until 2017, he has a buyout fee of €41m, but ironically, if he moves to Chelsea he’ll be required to do just as much defending, if not more under Jose Mourinho!
