CM: Arturo Vidal
A long time target of Arsene Wenger’s, he is seen as the ideal man to shore up the midfield to give it more balance. However, the Chilean international’s excursions this week could make the deal a little more difficult to pull off, with him having to check into the Chilean consulate once a month.
CM: Aaron Ramsey
The Welshman is far more consistent than Jack Wilshere, and still has a vast array of different abilities in his locker. Able to pass, score and dribble with ease, he can also put the boot in where necessary.
RW: Theo WalcottAfter missing the bulk of last season with injury, a new deal to keep him at the Emirates is believed to be close. He has told Wenger that he wants a more central role, and though he will likely make a few appearances there, it is on the wing that he will be most utilised.
LW: Alexis Sanchez
Arsenal’s best player last season by a country mile. Gunners fans will be hoping for more of the same, but after what will be two summers of virtually non-stop football, there will be a danger that he could be feeling slightly burnt out.
