Arsenal have rejected a swap deal for Cech, 33, that would see 21-year-old midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain join Chelsea. The Gunners would prefer a cash-only deal worth £10m to sign the Blues’ back-up goalkeeper, the Daily Mirror reports.

The Blues don’t want to lose the veteran shot stopper without getting a player back in return.

Southampton are targeting Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson, 23, as a potential replacement for 24-year-old right-back Nathaniel Clyne, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool, <a href=The Guardian reports.

However, West Ham are keen on reviving a loan deal for Jenkinson, despite Sunderland agreeing a £2m deal with the Gunners for the right-back.

Geoffrey-Kondogbia-AS-Monaco

Arsenal have apparently held talks with Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia ahead of a potential summer move for him, the Metro reports.

The Gunners have been long standing admirers of the former Sevilla man, and may finally make their move for him in the coming weeks.

Gonzalo-Higuain-Napoli

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has branded Arsenal fools for trying to sign striker Gonzalo Higuain, according to the Daily Express.

The Gunners have been linked with making a £23m move for the Argentine striker, though Juventus are also credited with an interest.

Danny-Welbeck

Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck believes the time has come for the club to mount a serious title challenge, the Daily Mirror reports.

The Gunners retained the FA Cup trophy in May but ended the Premier League season 12 points adrift of champions Chelsea.
