According to The Sun, the goalkeeper has rejected a staggering £250,000 a week contract at Old Trafford, and has already accepted a five-year deal of £130,000 a week at the Bernabeu.

Nevertheless, The Sun have reported that the two sides are yet to agree an overall fee, with Los Blancos’ opening offer of £18m being rejected. However, they are now preparing an offer worth an initial £25m, plus add-ons, and hope to get the deal done in the next couple of weeks.

However, should Louis van Gaal stand in the way of a deal any longer, then the Spanish stopper will make his desire to leave official.

Despite the struggles to get the transfer across the line, The Sun suggest that the Dutchman has already pinpointed his possible replacement with Hugo Lloris his first choice. However, he is also considering making a move for Chelsea’s Petr Cech or Asmir Begovic of Stoke.
