CM- Jordan Henderson 6
Henderson started with bundles of energy, and was constantly switching sides in England’s midfield. While his long passing was decent, his short passes were often poor and put his teammates under pressure. He was moved to right-back when Jones was brought off at the break, and did a decent job before heading back into midfield.
CM- Jack Wilshere 8
The Arsenal was non-existent in the first half, but provided England with a lifeline that no other player seemed capable of. His two stunning goals proved to be a catalyst, and without him, England would probably have lost.
CM- Fabian Delph 6
The Aston Villa man brought some physicality to the middle of the park, and linked up well when Kieran Gibbs darted down the line. His second half performance was probably not quite as strong, and so it was little surprise that he was replaced in the second half.
