Manchester United are considering the possibility of making a summer bid for Lyon star Alexandre Lacazette, whose future remains uncertain.
According to the Metro, the 24-year-old has yet to decide whether to leave Stade de Gerland, but there seems little question that he will have several offers on the table should he decide to go.
Louis van Gaal appears to be one of the Frenchman’s admirers, and it is not difficult to see why.
Lacazette was the Ligue 1’s top goalscorer last year, bagging 27 goals in just 33 games for a side that ran alongside Paris Saint-Germain for much of the campaign.
And having tried to utilise experience in his first season at Old Trafford, it appears that van Gaal is desperate to adopt a more youthful approach, having watched Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie struggle for form and fitness respectively.
Harry Kane had also been on the Dutchman’s shopping list, however The Sun reported that the Tottenham man had rejected speculation linking him with a move, perhaps strengthening van Gaal’s desire to get Lacazette.
