Arsenal news and gossip: Full-back pair ignore La Liga interest and commit future to Gunners

Hector Bellerin has ignored the possibility of any potential interest from former club Barcelona (via Metro), and has signed a new contract with the Gunners, the Daily Mirror report.

The Mirror report that 20-year-old has put pen to paper on a long-term deal.

On the other flank, Nacho Monreal has also seemingly confirmed his intention to remain with the Emirates outfit, the Metro report.

The left-back has been linked with a move back to La Liga, with Athletic Bilbao interested.

“I’m very happy at Arsenal,” he said.

“Of course I enjoyed playing in a lot of the games last season and that is the target again,” he added.

Benzema Real Madrid

They could be joined by Karim Benzema next season, after the Metro reported that Arsene Wenger admitted that a bid could be on its way.

The Frenchman did concede however, that they are yet to make an offer.

“Benzema is not happening at the moment but If I can find an exceptional player to strengthen the squad I will do it,” he said.


However, they may miss out on another target after the Daily Express reported that Manchester United have joined the Gunners, as well as Chelsea and Liverpool, in the race to sign Barcelona winger Pedro.

The Spaniard will be available for £22m.

Finally, Serge Gnabry could be leaving the club this summer, West Brom interested in signing the German on loan, the Daily Mirror report.
