The Colombian international has recently been linked with a move to Goodison Park amid rumours that Roberto Martinez is in the hunt for a new goalkeeper following Tim Howard’s poor form last term.

And with the 36-year-old American seemingly past his best, the Toffees are keen to bring in fresh blood ahead of the new term, and Ospina has admitted that he would be open to the possibility of a move.

“They are a very competitive team, which showed significant things during the last season,” he said.

“With a good manager and they play good football, it is a team to take into account and a great possibility.”

However, the 28-year-old has not been put off by the recent arrival of Petr Cech at the Emirates, and has insisted that though a move would be tempting, his first choice would be to remain with the north Londoners.

“Now an excellent keeper has arrived who I admire. During my holidays I’m analysing a lot of things and then I’ll have a conversation with the manager.

“For me it will be an honour to play alongside a keeper with that experience. A goalkeeper keeps learning every day.”
