Arsenal three in, three out: Mass exodus planned and Portugal star wanted

Three out:

Lukas Podolski

The Germany striker has struggled to find the form at the Emirates that he so often managed at international level. His inability to hold down a place in Arsene Wenger’s side saw him shipped out to Inter Milan on loan in January. And it appears that he’s on his way out for good this summer, with the London Evening Standard reporting that he’s on the verge of a £3m move to Galatasaray.

David Ospina

According to the Daily Express, the Colombian could be on his way to Besiktas for £4m, after competition for the number one spot was ramped up by the arrival of Petr Cech.

The former Nice man began the campaign as second choice behind Wojciech Szczesny, but a couple mistakes on and off the pitch gave Ospina his chance in the Premier League. And while he did well, there were still some concerns about whether he was capable of leading a side to the title. Cech on the other hand, has won practically everything, so will probably be the favourite to start the campaign with the gloves.

Carl Jenkinson

The same report in the Express suggests that the full-back is wanted by West Ham, and while Arsene Wenger would prefer a loan deal, he may be available for £7m.

The amount of competition at right-back – with Mathieu Debuchy, Hector Bellerin, and Calum Chambers – means that it is difficult to see how Jenkinson can hold down a regular place in the first team.
