Chelsea playmaker Oscar has explained that he is very content at Stamford Bridge, amid suggestions that a summer move to Juventus may be on the cards.
According to the Daily
“I know there has been a lot of talk about Juventus, but I am very, very happy at Chelsea,” he said.
“Last year I signed a new contract and I want to stay a long time at Chelsea. I have never been unsettled by what was being said,” he added.
It has been suggested that the Brazilian has not enjoyed anything like his best year since his move from Internacional in 2012. His cause has not been helped by the amazing campaign enjoyed by teammate Eden Hazard, who swept the board for individual accolades.
Nevertheless, he still scored six times, and managed eight assists as the Blues practically strolled to the Premier League title.
Had they been willing to let him go, they may have had a difficult task on their hands to adequately replace him. Pedro is arguably the most likely target (via Daily Mail) that would be able to fill the void that Oscar would leave behind.
However, he is four years older, and is approaching an age when wingers start to go past their peak. The Chelsea man has that stage of his career to look forward to.
