England Ladies boss Mark Sampson tipped for Premier League job

Leader of England’s Lionesses Mark Sampson is being tipped to become the Premier League’s new Garry Monk by one day soon taking over the reigns at a top flight side, the Daily Express reports.

At least that’s according to Swansea City academy chief David Moss, who had previously taken the 32-year-old under his wing while he was training with the South Wales giants.

Sampson has taken the world by storm after guiding the England ladies team to a stunning third place finish at this summer’s World Cup. Only a last gasp own goal in the semi-final against Japan prevented the side from being the first senior English national team to make it to a final since 1966.

And the Welshman now seems to have opened the door of possibility as Moss believes he can follow in the footsteps of current Swans boss Garry Monk by becoming the latest young manager in the Premier League.

“I don’t see why we wouldn’t see him in the Premier League soon. He is a fantastic manager and clearly has the ability, he just needs the opportunity,” Moss said.

“He started in the men’s game and I’m sure Mark has aspirations to manage and work at the highest level.”
