Chelsea and Manchester United look set to miss out on the signature of Atletico Madrid forward Arda Turan as it looks as though he has agreed a deal to join Barcelona, according to the Daily
The Turkish international has been on the radars of both Premier League giants already this summer, with reports recently claiming that he’d signed a pre-contract agreement with the Stamford Bridge giants.
However, talkSPORT are now claiming that the Premier League giants have missed out after Barcelona snuck in and picked him up in a €35m deal.
Speaking with The Sport’s Bar, Spanish football expert Begona Perez said: “There could be an announcement in the next couple of days but it is pretty much done. The fee is €35m.
“He was linked to Chelsea and Manchester United but this is a player the Barcelona manager Luis Enrique wanted.”
The 28-year-old joined the Spanish giants from Galatasaray back in 2011, and has gone on to make 178 appearances across all competitions, scoring 22 goals and creating 32 assists for his teammates.
He also played a part in helping his side to the 2012/13 Europa League title before playing his part in the club winning the Spanish League title a year later.
