Liverpool new boy Roberto Firmino has revealed what prompted him to sign for the club by claiming that the thought of playing in front of the Anfield faithful is giving him goosebumps.
The 23-year-old joined the club in a £29m move from Bundesliga giants Hoffenheim earlier this month but has been given extra time off to recuperate following his exploits in the Copa America.
And he has now revealed what his main motivation behind making the move was as well as giving an insight into how much he is looking forward to turning out in front of the famous Kop end.
“I am looking forward [to seeing] the fans at Anfield. I am already having goosebumps if I think of them singing ‘You’ll never walk alone’,” he told German newspaper Bild.
“I decided for Liverpool because they wanted me for over a year,’ he told Bild. ‘There was a certain sympathy from the beginning and I had a good feeling from the start.”
