Krychowiak’s declaration makes him the second Arsenal target in a matter of days that has killed speculation over a move by posting on social media. BBC Sport report that Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema quashed speculation linking him with a possible Emirates switch by posting a photo of himself sat in Los Blancos’ dressing room, and declaring the Bernabeu was home.
While a deal for the Frenchman was always going to be a struggle due to his value to Rafa Benitez’s side, the inability to bring in the holding midfielder will be extremely frustrating to Gunners supporters. The Metro previously suggested that it would take £21.2m to trigger Krychowiak’s release clause, which may represent a good amount of value considering the north London outfit’s need for another quality addition in that area of the pitch.
