Chelsea winger closing in on Stamford Bridge departure, but set to stay in Premier League

Chelsea and West Brom are close to agreeing a deal for the transfer of Blues winger Victor Moses, according to the Metro.

Despite Jose Mourinho’s side’s testing start to the season – which suffered another blow when Moses’ former team Crystal Palace left Stamford Bridge with all three points yesterday – the Nigeria international remains on the very periphery of the squad and has not been used since being brought on in the latter stages of the Community Shield defeat.

And with Saido Berahino’s future still up in the air (via Daily Telegraph), Baggies boss Tony Pulis appears determined to ensure that he bolsters his creative options in case the Tottenham target does move on.

He has already added Salomon Rondon – who bagged his first goal for the club with the winner against Stoke City – while reliable veteran Rickie Lambert has also arrived at the Hawthorns.

And to ensure that the pair are able to get on the scoresheet on a regular basis, Pulis is hoping to bring Moses in. The Metro report that West Brom are not willing to meet Chelsea’s £10m valuation, so may initially seek a loan deal, unless they are able to get a better price.
