Fenerbahce are planning to try their luck and make an incredible bid for Chelsea captain John Terry, according to the Daily
The Turkish side are hoping that a bid of £2.5m will be enough to tempt the Premier League champions to part with the 34-year-old, whose contract expires at the end of this season, the Express report.
The surprising offer comes just days after The Blues were dismantled by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, in a game that saw the former England skipper replaced for the first time under Jose Mourinho in the top flight (via Daily Mail).
While it is certainly too early to make assessments about how the season will pan out based on two results, the half-time substitution – when the score was just 1-0 – perhaps gave an indication that Mourinho is starting to look towards the post-Terry era at Stamford Bridge, which may have given Fenerbahce the confidence that they could pull this deal off. The Mail suggest that the decision to throw Kurt Zouma on was tactical.
Should the centre-back decide to accept the move to Turkey, he will be linking up with former Premier League rivals Robin van Persie and Nani – who both left Manchester United this summer – and two old Chelsea teammates in Raul Meireles and Miroslav Stoch.
