John Stones set to hand in transfer request to force through Chelsea move

Everton defender John Stones is reportedly set to hand in a transfer request in order to force through a move to Chelsea before the end of the transfer window, according to the back page of The Sun.

The England under-21 international has been the subject of some heavy interest from The blues this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to bring in an eventual successor for John Terry.

However, Toffees boss Roberto Martinez isn’t keen on allowing the centre-back to leave the club this summer, and has dug his heels in over Chelsea’s persistent interest.

Chelsea have already had two bids rejected for his services, with a third expected to be tabled in the coming days.

And now The Sun are claiming that Stones will help to push the move through by submitting a transfer request despite staying quiet on the matter throughout.
