Arsenal have reportedly sent scouts out to Spain to monitor the progress of Real Betis youngster Dani Ceballos, who may be available for a cut-price deal, according to the Daily
The 19-year-old has been attracting the attention of several of Europe’s biggest clubs – including Liverpool, Roma, and Real Madrid (via Daily Mail) – as he has a release clause of just £7.5m, and will be available on a free transfer next summer (via Mirror).
While the Spain under-21 international has not enjoyed the best of starts to the new season – with Madrid dishing out a 5-0 drubbing to the newly-promoted side in only their second game – the Mirror report that he has been compared with former Gunners midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
Arsene Wenger arguably needs more depth in his midfield, and while he did not find anyone that caught his eye during the summer, Ceballos could be the man that appeases both Wenger – who appears to not want to upset the balance of the side – and the fans, who will be delighted to see one of Europe’s brightest prospects turn up at the Emirates.
