Arsenal star Santi Cazorla has insisted that he never wished to leave the Emirates during the summer, despite speculation linking him with a move back to La Liga, according to the Metro.

“I never said I wanted to return to Spain,” he said.
“Those things just came from the press. I don’t understand why they publish that story because I have always been happy at the club,” he added.
With the squad boasting the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, and Aaron Ramsey, the former Malaga man has seen his role changed in the last year.
He has been dropped into a slightly deeper position to work alongside Francis Coquelin. While the Frenchman has provided some steel to complement Arsenal’s attractive style, Cazorla has been able to pose questions by sitting behind the creative trio working off the striker. The role allows him to display his full array of passes, or go on a run which tends to lead to gaps being created as opposition desperately try to take the ball away from the Spaniard.
