The Portuguese under-21 international joined The Reds back in 2013, but has so far yet to make a first team appearance for the club, spending the past two seasons out on loan with Spanish side Granada and Ligue 1 giants Bordeaux instead.
Liverpool will receive a £1m loan fee for the London-born defender, and should he play regularly he will spark a clause allowing Villa to sign him on a permanent deal for a fee ranging anywhere between £6m-£9m.
