French giants Paris Saint Germain have reportedly accepted a £45m offer from Arsenal for the signature of striker Edinson Cavani, according to the Metro.
The
Wenger has so far only made one high profile addition to his squad this summer, but The Star is claiming that he is in the market for a world class centre-forward and has now targeted Cavani after a move for Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema fell through.
Benzema publicly put the breaks on talk of a move to The Emirates last week (via Daily Star) and talk of Arsenal moving for Cavani was broken after Wenger was spotted on a flight.
Twitter account @GestiFuteFifa, which alleges to be part of the famous GestiFute agency posted a snap of the Frenchman on a flight to Paris with the caption: “Wenger has flown to Paris to discuss personal terms with Cavani. Deal is very close to being completed.”

However, Wenger has recently been working with beIN SPORTS, who are coving France’s upcoming games with Portugal and Serbia, so there is every likelihood that he is in the French capital for punditry work rather than business with Arsenal (via The Star).
