Manchester United may have made Monaco’s Anthony Martial the world’s most expensive teenager this week, but according to a report on Soccerex, he doesn’t even come close to being valued as picked up a low ranking in football’s top 20 U21s, as of January 1 2015, using a complex algorithm taking into account a whole host of factors.
This algorithm takes into account everything from average player sale value of their current club, or their club of origin if they have moved in this window, as well as comparable sale values from similar clubs to the one they are, or were, playing for.
