Tottenham are plotting a £15m bid for West Ham star Cheikhou Kouyate as their move for Victor Wanyama looks increasingly unlikely to happen, according to The
The Sun report that Southampton are desperate to keep hold of the Kenya international, meaning that Mauricio Pochettino has had to revert his attention away from his former club, and look elsewhere in the Premier League.
And in doing so, the Spurs boss has pinpointed the 25-year-old as the man that can provide some much needed steel to his side.
Kouyate would also bring some versatility, as he is more than comfortable playing in the centre of midfield, or as part of the back four.
Like the Saints’ stance regarding Wanyama, however, Slaven Bilic is reportedly less than keen to sell the Senegal international, even if the Hammers end up pocketing more than twice the £7m they paid for him last summer (via The Sun).
However, The Sun suggest that the Spurs hierarchy are confident that Kouyate wants a switch to White Hart Lane, so perhaps, he may make his feelings very clear in the final hours of the window.
