Jose Mourinho admits he’s struggling to halt Chelsea’s poor form

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has admitted that he is struggling to put a stop to Chelsea’s recent nosedive in the Premier League, according to the Daily Express.

The defending champions currently lie in 16th place in the table having managed to win just Premier League games so far.

Mourinho was given the dreaded vote of confidence by owner Roman Abramovic and the Chelsea board earlier this week (via Express), but the pressure is still mounting on him as the season enters a crucial stage.

However, despite the rocky results, the former Real Madrid boss insists that he is still the right man to take the club forward, even though he has admitted that he doesn’t quite know what to do to get them back on track.

Quizzed in an interview with Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport, he was asked why Chelsea have been unable to rediscover their form of last season, he said: “I don’t know.

“Chelsea’s results are really poor at this time. I can’t, and have no desire of hiding the truth.

“I’m struggling to come up with an explanation.

“However, I can assure you we are working harder than ever and we will improve. We also have the Champions League that we aren’t giving up on.”
