Man United target Neymar stalls on new Barcelona deal

Manchester United will have been alerted to the news coming from Spain that claims Barcelona star Neymar is stalling on a new contract with the club, the Metro reports.

The Daily Star have highlighted a story in Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo that suggests the Brazilian forward has put talks over a new deal on hold.

Neymar would not come cheap if United were tempted to make a move on the back of this news, but manager Louis van Gaal has shown consistently that he is not afraid to break the club’s chequebook out and spend big when he identifies a target.

The Red Devils were heavily linked with the 23-year-old throughout the summer transfer window, but eventually turned their attentions to Monaco’s Anthony Martial, who joined for £36m (via Metro).

Martial has proved to be a big hit so far this season, but should any opportunity to bring Neymar to the club arise they would be foolish to turn it down.
