Arsene Wenger has a message for Jurgen Klopp

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger understands Jurgen Klopp moaning about the lack of a winter break and the number of games teams have to play in the Premier League, according to The Daily Star.

On Wednesday, The Gunners visit Liverpool in a real cracker at Anfield. It will be The Reds’ third match in just eight days, a packed schedule that has seen it’s share of criticism from the German Liverpool boss.

Wenger doesn’t necessarily disagree with Klopp:

“I was like that (when arriving at Arsenal in 1996),” he said. “I’m still in favour of a winter break without losing traditions of English football, that is to play over Christmas and maybe have a break in January.”

However, Wenger insists the Premier League’s biggest clubs have all the resources to cope with the demands of playing in different competitions.

“We go a bit overboard because English clubs have finances to have a squad of 25 top players. It is not like 20 years ago. We can rotate. We have players who want to play. It is not 13 players you pick for every game.”

The Gunners are currently going strong in the Premier League. They are leading the table with 42 points after 20 matches. Meanwhile, Liverpool are down in 8th place with just 30 points and a negative goal difference (-2).

Therefore, The Reds are keen on a big win against Arsenal on Wednesday. Klopp’s men will no doubt be remembered about the beating they gave The Gunners last year at Anfield. Liverpool came away with a 5-1 victory, being up 4-0 after just 20 minutes.
